Impact
- Create reliable services for data, workflow, and AI-enabled products.
- Integrate internal and external systems with strong security boundaries.
- Improve performance, resilience, and maintainability across backend systems.
What you'll do
- Design and build APIs, background jobs, integrations, and service boundaries.
- Implement authentication, authorization, audit logging, and operational controls.
- Support data-intensive workflows and AI service integrations.
- Debug production issues and improve reliability over time.
What we're looking for
- 5+ years of backend engineering experience.
- Strong TypeScript, Node.js, Python, Go, Java, or similar production experience.
- Experience with databases, APIs, distributed systems, and cloud services.
- U.S. Citizenship is required.
- Must be capable of obtaining and maintaining a Top Secret security clearance.
- Comfort working with ambiguous mission, data, and engineering problems.
- Strong written communication and ability to explain technical decisions to technical and non-technical teams.
Preferred experience
- AWS experience is a plus, especially secure cloud, GovCloud, serverless, data, or AI services.
- AI, machine learning, LLM, agentic workflow, or decision intelligence experience is a plus.
- Experience in defense, government, manufacturing, aerospace, logistics, or other mission-critical environments is a plus.
