Human Factors / Workflow Designer

Impact

  • Improve adoption by designing around real operating conditions.
  • Clarify when humans decide, when automation assists, and how evidence is reviewed.
  • Reduce friction, cognitive load, and avoidable process failure.

What you'll do

  • Conduct workflow studies, interviews, task analysis, and usability research.
  • Map roles, handoffs, decision points, failure modes, and information needs.
  • Partner with product, design, and engineering teams to improve workflows.
  • Document recommendations and validate designs with users.

What we're looking for

  • 4+ years of human factors, UX research, service design, operations, or workflow design experience.
  • Experience with complex operational, enterprise, or high-stakes environments.
  • Strong research synthesis and communication skills.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Must be capable of obtaining and maintaining a Top Secret security clearance.
  • Comfort working with ambiguous mission, data, and engineering problems.
  • Strong written communication and ability to explain technical decisions to technical and non-technical teams.

Preferred experience

  • AWS experience is a plus, especially secure cloud, GovCloud, serverless, data, or AI services.
  • AI, machine learning, LLM, agentic workflow, or decision intelligence experience is a plus.
  • Experience in defense, government, manufacturing, aerospace, logistics, or other mission-critical environments is a plus.
